Saint Paul Athletic Club

The Saint Paul Athletic Club isn’t simply a club; it’s an urban sanctuary.  Newly remodeled in 2013, this urban health and wellness center features 68,000 square feet of fitness facilities spread out over six floors of the historic Saint Paul Athletic Club building in downtown Saint Paul.  An extensive assortment of cardio and strength equipment, combined with daily group fitness classes, small group training classes, personal trainers, and weekly social events, make the Saint Paul Athletic Club the Twin Cities’ premier recreational and social club.

A club to rival the finest in the country

The Saint Paul Athletic Club was certainly a treasure of the city upon its completion in 1917, but it also garnered significant national attention.  President Wilson was even included in the club’s kick-off.  From the White House, he pushed a button that, by wire, released the wrecking ball that made way for construction of the building.  The Saint Paul Athletic Club thrived for decades and expanded multiple times, adding the 14th floor Penthouse in 1959, and a basketball court and squash/racquetball courts shortly thereafter.  The height of membership was in 1980, when there were four thousand members paying $120/month.
