The Commodore Bar & Restaurant
The Commodore Bar & Restaurant is the newest addition to the thriving Cathedral Hill dining scene. Serving fresh American fare and classic libations, The Commodore Bar & Restaurant aims to channel the art deco era of the 1920’s and 30’s in its style and menu offerings. Live music is provided regularly in the dining room and connected music venue.
Fitzgerald slept here.
Opened in 1920, The Commodore Hotel was perhaps best known for the famous guests that frequented it throughout its early days (F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald and John Dillinger called the lobby bar a favorite haunt, to name a few). Following a tragic gas explosion that forced the hotel to shut its doors in 1978, the bar remained open only for special events and the hotel rooms were remodeled as condominiums. Today, The Commodore Bar has been reborn with the goal of recapturing the glitz and glamour of the art deco era.
